Northern Norway is known for it´s rough and varied climate. The landscape changes from alpine mountains and narrow fjords, with thriving coastal communities, to endless tundra and wilderness.
Hammerfest is situated on the island of Kvaløya and offers an untouched countryside, exciting history and open landscapes. The council of Hammerfest covers an area of about 844 km2 and offers great opportunities for mountain hiking.
Dansearena nord is a center for dance and contemporary performing Arts in Arctic Norway. We promote dance as an artform in the northernmost part of Norway and give preference to artists and companies working, living and touring in the region.
As a part of our program we offer Artist in Residence at the Arctic Cultural Center. Applicants can apply through the application form on our Norwegian website twice a year.
